Harsiddhi Air Solution has decades of experience in industrial and medical gas systems, ensuring high purity, energy-efficient, and reliably operational – allowing medical institutions to be self-sufficient in oxygen production while reducing dependence upon gas cylinder deliveries.
What Is a Medical Oxygen Plant?
A Medical Oxygen Plant refers to a plant that produces oxygen for medical purposes using innovative Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) technology. The Medical Oxygen Plant takes compressed air and separates oxygen from nitrogen while removing any other gas in the air. Medical oxygen is produced at purity levels of 90%–95%. In the US, oxygen purity levels of at least 90% are considered medical-grade and suitable for patients and hospital use.
PSA-based Medical Oxygen Plants are about the same size as an ordinary oxygen tank. Unlike traditional oxygen tanks or cryogenic liquid oxygen supply, a Medical Oxygen Plant will allow hospitals to provide oxygen to patients independently of an outside supplier. Patients will be able to receive oxygen from the Medical Oxygen Plant at any time during the 24 hours of the day. Medical Oxygen Plants can provide oxygen during emergencies or high-demand usage.
Operation of a Medical Oxygen Plant using TSA
- Air Compression & Purification – Air is compressed via a medical grade air compressor that is located on site. The air is passed through filters and dryers to remove dust, oil and moisture.
- Adsorption – The clean air flows into twin towers filled with Zeolite Molecular Sieves (ZMS) to adsorb nitrogen and allow oxygen to flow through.
- Regeneration – When one tower is saturated the system will switch to regenerate while the other tower makes oxygen to provide a constant flow.
- Delivery & Storage – Oxygen generation is directed to a receiver tank for delivery, via a pressure system, to the hospital piped oxygen system.
- Monitoring & Control – Monitoring and safety is accomplished via an advanced PLC based control system that will track and report oxygen purity, pressure and flow rate.
Why You Should Have Your Own Medical Oxygen Plant
Hospitals need oxygen for life-saving purposes, whether it is for patients on the ventilators, in waiting rooms, in operating rooms, or in the emergency departments. The on-site PSA oxygen plant gives you:
- An Uninterrupted Supply of Oxygen: You will not need to wait on the supply chain for another cylinder refill or deal with logistical issues concerning oxygen cylinder transport.
- Cost Savings: You will save on long-term expenditures from cylinder refills, transport, and storage, when you are producing and supplying your own oxygen.
- Safety and Reliability: You do not have to handle high-pressure cylinders of oxygen which can be a safety concern and risk of running out of oxygen supply.
- Environmental Sustainability: There is no cryogenic liquefaction; there is zero wastage and if you filter and purify the air, you will have less carbon footprint.
- Scalability: You can always scale the systems easily in order to mirror the future needs of the hospital.
- Regulatory Compliance: WHO, ISO 13485:2016, and Medical Device Directives have all accepted oxygen purity and performance.

Frequently Asked Questions About Medical Oxygen Plants
Q1: What is a Medical Oxygen Plant?
A: It’s a consumer oxygen generation device based on PSA that generates medical-grade oxygen on-site from compressed air, delivering safe and independent and continuous oxygen supply to hospitals.
Q2: What purity of oxygen is produced?
A: Our Medical Oxygen Plants produce oxygen at containing 90–95% purify as per World Health Organization (WHO) and ISO standards for medical use.
Q3: Does the system run 24/7?
A: Absolutely. The plant is designed to run 24/7 with automatic control and minimal supervision required.
Q4: How is it different from oxygen cylinders or Liquid oxygen?
A: Unlike cylinders or supply of liquid oxygen, PSA plants generate oxygen on-site and directly thus removing all logistical delays in oxygen delivery, refilling charges or risk of using liquid oxygen, which may be hazardous to store intermittently.
Q5: Is the oxygen safe for patients?
A: Yes. The product oxygen is monitored continuously on indicator, which is installed as part of the unit to determine product oxygen supply as medical oxygen.
Q6: Can the system be connected to the existing hospital pipeline?
A: Yes, our PSA plants can be connected to the existing MGPS (medical gas pipeline systems) or oxygen manifold.
Q7: What type of maintenance is required?
A: Regular inspection of filters, the air compressor, and the sieve beds will maintain optimum performance. The system is nearly free of maintenance, and will last for several years.
Q8: Does Harsiddhi provide installation and servicing?
A: Yes. Harsiddhi Air Solution provides complete turnkey solutions which include installation, commissioning, operator training and after sales maintenance contracts.
