Heatless Air Dryer Manufacturer India

Why Opt for Heatless Desiccant Dryers in Your Compressed Air System?

The heatless desiccant dryer is the best solution to guarantee dry compressed air, especially for sensitive applications. At Harsiddhi Air Solution, our heatless air dryers provide consistent ultra-low dew points and long life to compressed air systems in industrial and medical markets.

What Is a Heatless Air Dryer?

A heatless air dryer utilizes twin towers filled with desiccant material (such as activated alumina or molecular sieves). Compressed air passes through the “on-line” tower and is absorbed by the desiccant. At the same time, the “off-line” tower is depressurized and uses a small portion of the dry air (purge air) to desorb the desiccant. Then, the on-line and off-line process continues without interruption in a continuous stream of dry air. A typical attainable pressure dew point (PDP) for this process is –40 °C and can be even lower for critical applications.

Advantages of Heatless Air Dryer

  • Ultra-low dew point – You can get dew points of –40°C or better for optimal moisture control.
  • Simple and reliable design – There are fewer moving parts compared to heated systems so reliability is increased.
  • Rugged and robust – Reliable high inlet air temperatures and rugged conditions.
  • Compact & modular – While skid-mounted, equipment can be combined seamlessly with your compressed air system.
  • Maintenance friendly – Less external heater, less complexity and fewer points to service.

Energy friendly in many applications – Especially effective when you desire dew point stability.

The Working Process of Heatless Air Dryer

  • Pretreat: Compressed air travels to the dryer after being filtered and cooled, in order to remove oil and bulk moisture.
  • Adsorption: The air enters the online tower and passes upward through the desiccant that adsorbs water vapour. Dry air exits to feed your system.
  • Regeneration: A portion of the dried air (purge air) expands into the offline tower and desorbs the water in the desiccant; this then repressurises.
  • Cycle Switch: The towers switch roles continuously.
  • Control & Monitoring: Modern systems incorporate timers or dew-point controls, indicators of tower status, and bypass valves for maintenance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What is the purpose of a heatless air dryer?
A: It eliminates water vapor and moisture from compressed air, generating low dew point air which prevents corrosion, damage to tools, and contamination in your system.

Q2: What is the lowest dew point that a heatless dryer can get to?
A: The standard units can approximately reach –40 °C, while specialized versions, based on design, inlet conditions and flow, can reach –70 °C or lower.

Q3: Why is purge air used by the dryer?
A: Purge air (a limited quantity of dry compressed air) is expanded and pushed through the regenerating tower to remove absorbed moisture from the desiccant, allowing for continuous drying.

Q4: Is using a heatless dryer always the preferred option?
A: It is a fantastic choice for reliability and simplicity in remote or rugged environments, but for larger flows or applications where loss of compressed-air is critical, heated or externally heated dryer type dryer will provide a lower cost.

Q5: How do I know what size to choose?
A: You will need to determine your inlet air flow (Nm³/h), operating pressure, desired dew point, inlet temperature, and acceptable pressure drop. We will help you select the right size to ensure optimal performance and cost efficiency.

Q6: What type of maintenance is required?
A: Regular maintenance includes filter change out, monitoring sensors, checking the pressure drop, checking the desiccant condition (after several years), and checking the valve cycles. A properly maintained system will provide years of performance.

Q7: Can I connect this to my existing compressor and air system?
A: Absolutely! Our heatless dryers are designed for easy integration, installed skid-mounted or frame-mounted, and with minimal downtime, the installation can be performed.
